Summer is coming soon, and that means that fair season is right around the corner. It’s time for carnivals, rollers coasters, fun games, and crazy fair food. Sure, the food at your local fair might seem normal, but there are some absolutely crazy fair food creations out there. Here is a list of the top five craziest fair foods from across the country.
Fried Butter Balls. This one comes from Montana and Paula Dean. Basically, this is a ball of butter and cream cheese, coated in brown sugar and a breading coating, then deep fried. You’re basically eating a ball of butter and greasy dough. While it might not be the absolutely strangest, it does sound incredibly unhealthy.
The Deep Fried Elvis. While the name is incredibly misleading, this fair food is still strange. Wisconsin natives made this one as a tribute to Elvis and his favorite foods. It’s a cup with a deep fried banana, covered in peanut butter and bacon. Sounds pretty crazy if you’re asking me. I could deal with the deep fried banana, but bacon is just taking it way too far.
Cheeseburger and Deep Fried Ice-Cream. This one doesn’t really have a name, but it does come straight from the state of Florida. Basically, this fair food is exactly as it is named. It’s a standard cheeseburger, pickles, mustard, and everything. The difference is that a scoop of deep-fried ice cream is sat right on top of the cheeseburger. I understand the whole salty and. sweet, but this might be too extreme for even me to try.
The Muddy Pig. Coming at you from Ohio is something that could either be absolutely amazing or horrifically disgusting. The muddy pig is a piece of fried bacon on a stick covered in chocolate. I would give this a try, but I would be a bit afraid to at first. Someone is bound to like this one though.
Krispy Kreme Hamburger. (Featured Photo) Straight out of Alabama is something that does sound incredibly like southern food. The Krispy Kreme Hamburger is a hamburger with onions and cheese, but instead of a bun, it’s two Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Supposedly this creation has over 1,000 calories in that, which is half of your recommended daily amount. Yikes!
Have you tried any of these? Are any of these a local favorite in your state? Would you ever try any of these if offered to you? I doubt I would try any of these, but maybe some of you are far more adventurous than I am. Well, enjoy the fair season and let us know about any of the crazy fair food you find along the way!
